Physical Fitness Testing (PFT)

Overview

The physical fitness test (PFT) for students in California schools is the . The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity.

All students in grades third 鈥 ninth and tenth - twelfth (in PE courses) take the fitness test. The test has six parts that show a level of fitness that offer a degree of defense against diseases that come from inactivity. The test results can be used by students, teachers, and parents

Specifically, the 鈥淲ith Math I Can鈥 initiative hopes to challenge ideas about who can 鈥 and who can鈥檛 鈥 perform math at the highest levels. Research shows that anyone can succeed at high-level math with patience, practice and a willingness to see mistakes as part of the learning process.
