At the August 8 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board welcomed new student Board Member Justine Chueh-Griffith, a senior at West Campus High School.

The Board heard an informational update on the Summer Matters programs that ran this summer from June 24 – July 2 serving TK through 12th grade students. »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ’s  Summer Matters learning programs are designed to minimize summer learning loss and  provide opportunities for academic intervention and enrichment.

Dear Sac City Unified families,

You can help Black and African American students reach their full potential by joining the Black/African American Advisory Board for »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ. Our Board is composed of community members like you who want to make change and improve outcomes for Black and African American youth. The Black/African American Advisory Board meets frequently to discuss and address challenges facing marginalized students in our school system and make recommendations to »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Board of Education and staff.

Updates to »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ COVID-19 Health & Safety Plan

and have updated their respective COVID-19 Isolation and Testing Guidance for schools.  In accordance with our policy to follow CDPH and Cal Osha guidance, Health Services will be updating the school district guidance and contact tracing advisories for students and staff as of Friday, January 19.

Sacramento City Unified is in the process of adopting new instructional materials for secondary World Languages starting with the 2024-25 academic year. Teachers, students, parents/guardians and community members have the opportunity to review and provide input about the instructional materials being considered for adoption, and we welcome your feedback.

At the January 18 meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District Board, the Board recognized Stellar Student Anna Bassi, a 7th grader at Alice Birney TK-8 Public Waldorf School. Anna is an exceptionally well-rounded student. She was recognized for her impressive visual and performing arts talents and contributions, her outstanding academic success, and the kindness and friendliness she demonstrates at school.
