Joint Statement from »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ and SCTA Regarding Compensation

The Sacramento City Unified School District and the Sacramento City Teachers Association have reached an agreement to close out the contract reopener negotiations for the recently completed 2022-2023 school year. This agreement comes one day before students begin the new fall semester and after negotiations resumed earlier this month with a commitment by both the District and SCTA to work in a collaborative manner.

We had so much fun welcoming students back for the 2023-2024 school year this week! Our Interim Superintendent, Lisa Allen, and Sac City Unified’s mascot, Crispin, had fun visiting our schools, students and families on the first day. 

As a reminder, schools will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy your weekend and we’ll see your student back on Tuesday, September 5!

Special Education Improvement Plan Town Halls

We will be discussing the landmark settlement agreement between Black Parallel School Board and »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ and our collaborative strategies for improving special education in our district, with a particular focus on addressing disproportionality that has negatively impacted Black and African American students.

Attendance Awareness Month Community Fair

It’s Attendance Awareness Month, and our CARE team is hosting a community fair at The »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ Enrollment Center on Saturday, September 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event offers families free meals, free grocery boxes, live music, motivational speakers, community resources and more!
