Mental Health, Crisis Response and Suicide Prevention
A variety of mental health services are available to students experiencing social or emotional difficulties. With specially trained staff and a wide array of community mental health providers, Student Support and Health Services staff provide services directly to students and families.
Student Advisory Council (SAC)
The Youth Voice priority of the YDSS department is multifaceted. One primary program centered in cultivating youth voice is the Student Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC is a year-round program that provides an opportunity for incoming 10th-12th grade students to critically research and analyze the problems currently facing 黄色视频 youth, and organize to take action against those problems. The SAC strives to promote student voice within the district, recognizing youth as key leaders and changemakers.
Head Start/State Full-Day Preschool Program
This is a free or reduced cost program based on family size and income. This option is for families that are working, in school, incapacitated or seeking employment. Families may receive up to 7 hours of child care services based on the parent鈥檚 documented need.
Student Support Centers
SSHS operates Student Support Centers at schools throughout the district to provide support to students who are struggling socially, emotionally, behaviorally and/or academically. At each center, a coordinator works closely with school staff to identify students in need of assistance. Once identified, social workers, family advocates, interns, and community partners work directly with students and parents to address issues that are of concern to them, drawing on other resources for additional support.
Payroll Services
Payroll Services is responsible for paying nearly 6,300 employees 鈥� including full-time, part-time, temporary, and substitute employees. Payroll processes all service credits for the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
