Umoja International Academy International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Umoja International Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Middle Years Programme in grades 7-10 and Diploma Programme in grades 11 and 12. John F. Kennedy Program in Advanced Curricular Exploration (PACE)
Grades 9-12
Program Information
Our Program in Advanced Curricular Exploration (PACE) is designed to prepare students to pursue College Board’s Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma/Certificate™. The 9th and 10 grade English Language Arts class will prepare students for the volume and rigor of reading and writing necessary to succeed in many AP courses and in the AP Seminar and AP Research courses required to earn an AP Capstone Diploma/Certificate.
John F. Kennedy Marine Corps Jr. ROTC Program
Grades 9-12
Program Information
Marine Corps Junior ROTC (MCJROTC) is at its essence a Leadership Education Program meant to develop character and citizenship. Often young adults receive conflicting messages about right and wrong, good and bad. Joining and participating in MCJROTC can help students make the best decisions based upon learning and practicing core values and the development of character and personal responsibility.
John F. Kennedy Manufacturing and Design (MaD)
Grades 9-12
Program Information
The Manufacturing and Design pathway at John F. Kennedy High School offers students a unique experience unlike any other. The MaD pathway focuses on manufacturing engineering and providing students with hands-on experience. Here, students will develop strong critical thinking and analytical skills, while applying them to design and manufacturing challenges. Students will take something from digital design to physical products.
John F. Kennedy Culinary Arts
Grades 9-12
Program Information
In the Culinary Arts Pathway, students expand their study of Culinary Arts and explore Hospitality Management. They learn and apply their knowledge through standards and project-based curriculum in the lab class setting and in a working food service kitchen. Students develop culinary skills through nutritional analysis and recipe costing and development. They learn the correct use of food service equipment and food and kitchen safety.
John F. Kennedy Criminal Justice Academy
Grades 9-12
Program Information
This magnet academy includes all basic high school course requirements plus specialized training in the field of law enforcement. Students will study the basic course materials used by those in training to be police cadets. Additionally, the curriculum covers investigative procedures, forensic science, physical training, and law principles. The JFK CJA Program is offered through a partnership with the Sacramento Police Department.
