Register for Transitional Kindergarten

To be eligible to register for transitional kindergarten:

  • For the 2024-2025 school year, children must be five years old September 2, 2024, through June 2, 2025. 
  • For the 2025–2026 school year, children who will turn four years old by September 1, 2025 are eligible.

Enrollment Information

If your child was born after June 2, 2025, you can fill out the to be contacted on or after August 19, 2024, if space is available for your student in one of our Transitional Kindergarten classrooms.

Schools with Additional Requirements

, and schools require an adult representative (parent/guardian) to attend a school visitation and complete a student interest form in order to qualify. Please contact the schools directly for more information.

Immunization Requirements

California schools are required to check immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade. Parent/guardians must show their child’s Immunization Record as proof of immunization. Families will be required to upload their student’s Immunization Record as part of the registration process.

Before and After School Care

Families who are interested in having their TK student in Sac City Unified’s Expanded Learning (before and after school) program can register at . 

The program is free of charge and TK students are guaranteed a spot in the program. You can reach out to Youth Development Support Services at (916) 643-7919 if you have any questions.

Transitional Kindergarten
2024-2025 School Year

The Transitional Kindergarten program has a developmental and age appropriate curriculum that gives early learners time to acquire school readiness, academic, social, and emotional skills needed for kindergarten and beyond. The curriculum model is based upon the California Early Learning Foundations, blending play based learning opportunities in the program and introducing State Common Core Standards in preparation for the following years in school. The program is 3 hours and 20 minutes long each day. The class sizes are 24 students plus a teacher and instructional aide for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Parent Participation Preschool Program

Overview

Nurturing, caring teachers will help you and your child grow to your full potential in this unique preschool setting. Our education is focused on child development, positive discipline and developmentally appropriate practices. 

Parents work in the classroom in collaboration and guidance of the teacher to help children develop a variety of skills. Parents also learn parenting techniques to use in the classroom and at home.

The surveys was open from February 26 – March 22, 2024.

Each Spring, »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ administers a School Climate Survey to assess how our district and schools are meeting the needs of families, staff, and students.  

Student Survey

The student survey is administered online to students in grades 3-12. Student voice is a priority of the Board of Education as it is critical to inform district planning.
