Sacramento, CA - »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ is aware that the Sacramento City Teachers’ Association (SCTA) filed an Unfair Practice Charge with the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) alleging bad faith bargaining and interference with SCTA’s rights.  The District denies the allegations made in the complaint and will respond to the charge.

Sacramento, CA - Beginning today, Thursday, June 30, 2022, the Sacramento City Unified School District’s (»ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ) Nutrition Services Department is offering breakfast and lunch at more than 30 »ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ school locations.

All children 18 years-old and under can receive a meal, no paperwork necessary and enrollment is not required. The summer meal program is available Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch through Friday, July 29, 2022. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Sacramento, CA - An investigation into racist graffiti and social media activity at West Campus High School in November 2021 is now complete and a report has been issued.  The Sacramento City Unified School District immediately retained a neutral outside investigator who spent six months looking into the complaints about West Campus.  This investigation was separate from the Sacramento Police Department’s criminal investigation of the matter.

Sacramento, CA - At a Special Meeting of the Sacramento City Unified School District (»ÆÉ«ÊÓƵ) Board of Education, the Board adopted a policy to use health metrics to guide decisions on the district’s masking requirement.

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento City Unified will shift from requiring masking to strongly recommending masking, starting Monday, April 18. This shift in policy follows the that Sacramento County maintained a low transmission level of COVID-19 for four consecutive weeks.

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District has received notification that Dr. Elysse Versher intends to resign from her position as Vice Principal at West Campus High.

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District has ended its employment relationship with a teacher who used racist language in a classroom at Kit Carson International Academy last June. The district quickly removed the teacher from the classroom following the incident, and the teacher was placed on administrative leave during an investigation about the matter.  

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento City Unified School District Board of Education tonight approved contract agreements that were recently negotiated with SCTA and SEIU.  Our focus has now turned on recovering learning time that was lost due to the recent strike, which our students and families deserve.
